Intermission!?

Sunday February 24th, 2008

I'm re-watching Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Oddyssey and I competely forgot that there is an intermission in the middle. So, of course, I'm taking the opportunity to blog about it. Regarding intermissions in general, I can see why most modern movies don't have them anymore: they're a pain in the behind.

On a completely separate note, I still can't believe how well the special effects hold up. The part where the stewardess (because they didn't have flight attendants in the 60's) walks around upside down is amazing. Pretty much all of the exterior space shots look great. 40 years later, the people who made that deserve mad props.
